Miami and New York based artist Alejandro Guzmán will present Bochinche at Faena Forum during Miami Music Week as a part of his Creative Misunderstandings series. Bochinche comes on the heels of Guzmán's performances at The Brooklyn Museum and Seattle Art Museum and is the latest iteration of this performance framework that creates space for a diverse community of artists. The performance structures are sculptures made of wood and found materials that serve as totems to mark spiritual space and connect across geographic, temporal and generational worlds. Each participating artist brings their specific practice to activate these structures through ritualized action. Their movement generates a new spiritual and creative space for social interaction. Humorous and playful while confrontational and profound, the performances generate an ecstatic fellowship for both participants and audience alike.
